Description
Very rare WWII FS/SB painted Chaplain helmet . This example was found in a sealed compartment on the USS Wisconsin during rearmament for Desert Storm. The people who found it in a sealed compartment on the ship with a bunch of other WWII gear. They took it to the ships post office and had the shell postmarked with the USS Wisconsins postmark and the date it was found, and they then presented it to the then-Chaplain as a gift. Helmet is in excellent shape, with the liner being absolutely mint. Helmet has new style chinstraps, which were added by the sailors who found the helmet, as it did not have any when it was removed from the compartment.
